Welcome to the SoloMode Blog

Why SoloMode?

Every project management tool out there is built for teams. Sprints, standups, stakeholder reviews — none of that maps to how a solo indie dev actually works.

You're one person wearing every hat: programmer, artist, designer, audio engineer, QA, and marketing. You need a tool that keeps up with you, not one that forces you into somebody else's workflow.

That's why we built SoloMode.

What makes it different

A dashboard that makes sense

Your projects live on a clean card-based dashboard. Each game shows its title, cover art, genre, and a quick description — everything you need at a glance without the clutter.

Task boards built for game dev

Our kanban board isn't just To Do / Doing / Done. You can tag tasks by:

  • Priority — what's urgent right now
  • Discipline — Code, Art, Audio, Design
  • System — Combat, Inventory, UI, whatever your game needs
  • Scope — quick fix or week-long feature
  • Bug — because bugs happen

Filter and sort by any combination. Find exactly what you should be working on next.

A living Game Design Document

Every project gets a built-in GDD editor with full Markdown support. Keep your vision doc right next to your task board — no more switching between apps.

What's next

We're just getting started. Here's a taste of what's on the roadmap:

  • Time tracking — see where your hours actually go
  • Export & backup — your data, your way
  • Themes — because your project manager should look as good as your game

Stay tuned, and happy shipping.
